Terms & Conditions

1. General

By using Iron Pressed’s collection, ironing and delivery services, customers agree to these Terms and Conditions.

Iron Pressed reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. The latest version will be available upon request and on our website.

 

2. Service

Iron Pressed provides a collection, ironing and delivery service for clean, dry garments and household textiles.

We reserve the right to refuse any items that are excessively soiled, damp, contaminated, damaged, or unsuitable for ironing.

 

3. Customer Responsibilities

Customers must:

  • Ensure all items supplied for ironing are clean and dry.
  • Empty all pockets before collection.
  • Inform us of any delicate fabrics, embellishments or special care requirements.
  • Check garments for damage prior to collection.
  • Iron Pressed cannot be held responsible for damage caused by pre-existing faults, weak fabrics, loose buttons, worn seams, hidden defects or manufacturer faults.

 

4. Collection and Delivery

Collection and delivery times are estimates and may vary due to traffic, weather, vehicle issues or other unforeseen circumstances.

If a customer is unavailable at the agreed collection or delivery time, an additional charge may apply for a repeat visit.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate contact and address details.

 

5. Pricing and Payment

All prices will be clearly communicated to customers before work is carried out.

Payment is due upon delivery unless otherwise agreed.

Iron Pressed reserves the right to withhold delivery of items until payment has been received.

Accepted payment methods are cash or bank transfer only.

A receipt will be provided once payment has been received.

 

Any additional charges for services outside the standard pricing structure, including express turnaround requests, oversized items or collections outside the standard service area, will be discussed and agreed with the customer before work is carried out.

 

6. Turnaround Times

Our standard turnaround time is up to 48 hours from collection.

Where possible, a 24-hour turnaround service may be available upon customer request and will incur an additional charge.

While every effort is made to return items within the agreed timescale, turnaround times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

Iron Pressed shall not be liable for any loss resulting from delayed delivery.

 

7. Liability

Iron Pressed will exercise all reasonable care when handling customer items.

In the unlikely event that an item is damaged as a direct result of our negligence, our liability shall not exceed ten times the ironing charge for that item or the current replacement value of the item, whichever is lower.

Claims must be reported within 24 hours of delivery.

No claims will be accepted after this period.

 

8. Loss of Items

Any claim for missing items must be reported within 24 hours of delivery.

Iron Pressed will investigate all claims thoroughly.

 

9. Delicate and Special Care Items

Items requiring specialist treatment must be declared before collection.

Iron Pressed accepts no liability for damage to garments where special care requirements have not been disclosed.

 

10. Cancellation Policy

Customers must provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel a collection.

Repeated cancellations or missed appointments may result in refusal of future bookings.

 

11. Data Protection

Customer information will only be used for providing our services, processing bookings and communicating with customers.

We will not sell or share customer information with third parties except where required by law.

 

12. Complaints

Any complaints should be submitted within 24 hours of delivery.

We are committed to resolving concerns fairly and promptly.

14. Minimum Order Requirement

A minimum order of 10 items applies to all collections.

Iron Pressed reserves the right to refuse collections that do not meet the minimum order requirement or to apply a minimum service charge.

 

15. Service Area

Iron Pressed currently operates within a 5-mile radius of Pontefract, West Yorkshire.

Collections and deliveries within this area are included as part of our standard service.

Collections and deliveries outside the 5-mile service area may be accepted at our discretion and may incur an additional travel charge. Any additional charges will be discussed and agreed with the customer before the booking is confirmed.

Customers are encouraged to contact us before booking if they are unsure whether their address falls within our standard service area.

 

16. Items Left in Pockets

Customers are responsible for ensuring all pockets are emptied before collection.

Iron Pressed accepts no liability for loss or damage to money, jewellery, keys, documents, electronic devices or any other items left in garments.

 

17. Fabric Condition and Garment Care

While every reasonable care will be taken when ironing garments, Iron Pressed cannot be held responsible for:

Colour fading or colour transfer.

Fabric shrinkage.

Damage resulting from age-related wear and tear.

Weak seams, loose buttons or embellishments.

Manufacturer defects.

Damage caused by inaccurate care labels.

Customers are responsible for notifying us of any special care requirements before collection.

 

18. Oversized and Heavily Creased Items

Additional charges may apply for:

Large bedding items.

Duvet covers.

Curtains.

Tablecloths.

Items requiring excessive pressing due to severe creasing.

Any additional charges will be discussed with the customer before work is carried out.

 

19. Undeliverable Items

Items accepted for delivery that are not received by the customer within 30 days of notification may be donated to charity, recycled or otherwise disposed of at Iron Pressed’s discretion.

Reasonable attempts will be made to contact the customer before any action is taken.

 

20. Right to Refuse Service

Iron Pressed is committed to providing a professional and respectful service to all customers.

We reserve the right to refuse, suspend or terminate services where a customer displays abusive, threatening, aggressive, discriminatory or inappropriate behaviour towards Iron Pressed or its representatives.

Any outstanding payments for services already completed will remain payable in full.

Iron Pressed also reserves the right to refuse any booking that it believes may pose a risk to the safety, wellbeing or property of the business or its representatives.

 

21. Laundry Bags

Iron Pressed laundry bags are provided for collection & delivery purposes. If you wish to keep a laundry bag, a charge of £6.50 per bag will apply.

 

22. Acceptance of Terms

By booking a collection or using the services of Iron Pressed, customers confirm that they have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions in full.
